The Ukrainian kitchen has a great variety of dishes. Being on crossroad of the trade ways, country "has absorbed" in itself traditions of many folks, it gave us a big amount of original recipes. In all dishes are broadly used vegetables, dough, meat and milk products. National tatar kitchen is presented broadly in Crimea.
The Visiting card of the country – is ukrainian borsch with pampushkas. In borsch, depending on recipe, goes from 15 to 30 components, but besides, each cook will put in unique proportion and add the different spices. No less popular are dishes with fish. Amongst they particularly follow to note such, as herring kyiv-like, baked european carp in sour cream. One more visiting card - are varied varenyky with stuffing with pot cheese, potatoes, stewed cabbage, and in summer - with berries, used traditionally with sour cream and other milk product.
Different porridges are also popular - buckwheat, pumpkin, porridge from buckwheat flour, corns and etc. Moreover porridge is often used not only as addition, but also presents itself independent dish, which is eaten with milk, sour cream, sunflower oil or fried with onion.
But let’s not forget about dishes from bread - from the same varenyky and pancakes from the most varied types of flour, to nalysnyky and pies with different stuffing. Sweets and bakings in Ukraine are also original - varied sweet pies, cookies, pampushkas, etc.
Crimea and Carpathians produce the ensemble a sort first-class whines ("Nutmeg", "Serdolik Tavridy", "Sersial", "Tokay", "Massandra", "Alminskoe", "Sherri", "Madera", "Yalta", "Swallows' nest" and others) from Massandra and Livadia, as well we get champaign.
For present-day day in Ukraine it is possible to find the cuisines of all countries of the world. There are many restaurants and sushi-bars, which offer the full menu of eastern kitchen; cafes and fast-foods with European kitchen, different pizza restaurants. The cost of the dinner varies from 10 USD in cheap café to 100 USD in expensive restaurants.
