The Custom, as well as language, - are least elements, which unite the people in one folk, in one nation. The traditions were formed during the whole life of each folk.
National holidays are celebrated by concerts and festivals on the main stages of the country. Usually this day is announced work-free. Famous Ukrainian and foreign music bands are being invited to those concerts.
Most holidays are religious. Every holiday is celebrated in a special way, according to traditions.
On Easter people go to church with their families. The day before you need to bake special easter bread – pasky. Also people color eggs. The egg, as a symbol of life, is being decorated with color patterns. Such eggs are called pysanky.
Another holiday – Ivana Kupala, is widely celebrated. Girls make garlands on their heads and let them flow on the water. And boys must catch those garlands. Youth make I big fire and dance around it. Boys and girls jump over the fire holding hands. If keep their hands together – they will get married.
Songs, dumas and music, dance and bright cloth, humour and graphic arts - all one integer, which created the inimitable national image of our folk, either as each nations.
The unadulterated image of our public culture is possible to observe during prominent events in everyday life , - shall say, weddings, which possible without exaggeration can be named public opera, which is performed for week in accompaniment of all manifestations of the ukrainian national culture: songs, music and dance. The public material culture is penetrated by the idea of the greatness of bread: cult of bread played the special role. It is the main attribute in customs and it takes the first place in life cycles of the person - from birth to death.
Traditions are carefully kept in families and are sent from generation in generation.
