Each has a right on liberty of the worldoutlook and faith. The Church and religious organizations in Ukraine are separated from state, and school - from church. No religion can be not recognized by state as obligatory.

Ukraine has many confessions but mainly christian (the most orthodox) tradition. Now in Ukraine religious life is presented in suppressing majority by christian commune though there is representatives and the other religion and religious currents, their amount encreses every year. Over 97% registered on today religious communes in Ukraine are christian. Aproximately 50 % of them present orthodox tradition. To the most multiple protestant confessions belongs  luterans, baptists,  etc.

In Ukraine lives third in size jewish commune of the Europe and fifth in size jewish commune of the world. There are also  moslem communes of the different national composition, which act in all area of the Ukraine.
