History: The history of National Aviation University dates back to August, 1933. During the years of its existence this educational institution became a real cradle of aviation specialists having trained thousands of experts, which work in Ukraine and almost 90 countries of the world. Among them there are renowned scientists, industry organizers, military and state figures. They head the air companies, factories, design bureaus, educational institutions, organizations and services within different departments.
Powerful scientific schools in the fields of management, mechanics, electronics, electrical engineering, materials science, computer science and computer facilities have been created at the university.
The working team of the University led by the rector, professor V. Babak has entered a critically difficult period of reforms in the higher education system of Ukraine. His team developed the concept of the university development, which is being implemented very fast. The University is being transformed into a versatile educational institution.
Taking into account a nation-wide and international recognition of the University achievements as well as its great contribution to the development of national higher education and sciences the University was awarded the status of National higher educational institution by the Decree of the President of Ukraine L. Kuchma in September, 2000.
