Lugansk - a city (since 1795) in Ukraine, administrative centre of Luganskaya area.The population of  Lugansk is 528,4 thous.people with nearest suburb (1998). On territory it falls into group of ten largest cities of Ukraine.Lugansk is located in  the merging yard  of river Lugan with river Olhovaya.The Distance between Kiev forms 811 km.

Main famous places: Memorial "Quiping grave", Svyatovladimirskiy cathedral, Park-museum of the stone sculptures LNPU, Lugansk-City. According to general plan of the city, for 20 years modern area Lugansk-City (11,5 ga) will be built on place of the old quarter between town centre and railway station, consisting of one-floor buildings of XIX s.
