Harkov- city on northeast of  Ukraine, administrative centre of Harikovska area. The population - 1,47 mln. person, area of the city - 310 km sqr.

The second largest city of  Ukraine.The largest scientific, cultural, industrial and transport centre of  Ukraine, was third in size industrial centre in USSR after Moscow and Leningrad.

There are 60 research institutes, 45 higher educational institutions (including Harikovskiy university, one of the first universities in Russian empire, founded in 1805, 5 museums, city art gallery, 6 theatres, 80 libraries.

Large transport element ( roads, railway,international aeroport).To the local proud it is possible to refer the central area of Harikiv -  area of the Liberty (before the second half 1990 - area of Dzerzhinskiy), monument of the architecture, - on amount is first in Europe and seventh in the world, also Botanical garden  of Harikiv university and Park in the name of Gorkiy, through which stretched the hanging rope road.
