Odessa - a city on Black sea side of Ukraine, administrative centre of Odesskaya area, the largest port of Ukraine, large industrial, cultural, scientific and resort centre; the element of big roads and railways. In Odessa there is famous Potemkin stairway, having presently 192 steps. The Great prince Mihail Semyonovich Voroncov has presented the stairway, which costed him 800 thous. roubles, his wife Elizabeth. The construction of this really gigantic stairway was commenced in 1837 and was finished in 1841. The author of the project was an architect F. K. Boffo.
